Those Who Can Blog

Those who can, DO. Those who can’t, TEACH.

It’s a whole new world, this digital age. Remember the first time you heard the word, blog? “What the heck is that,” you wondered. Someone told you it’s a “web log” shortened to “blog.” And you replied, “Oh, I see.”

Nowadays, those who can, BLOG.

But you didn’t until you went home and started looking for blogs on the internet. In the early days of blogging, it was pretty static and bloggers did little beside expressing their opinions on various subjects.

Today, blogs have matured to sometimes journalistic status. Bloggers who have  something important to say or some entertaining way of saying what’s on their minds may have millions of followers.

Let’s be realistic here. You have lived life to the fullest and had many life experiences along the way.

You’ve met interesting people, learned many valuable lessons. Then, the truth is, you have something to blog about. Write it down and post it on the internet and, voila, you’re a blogger. There are scores of sites that will host your blog for free. Unless you’re just looking for a hobby, however, you need to investigate how blogging can actually benefit you financially.

Thousands of websites selling products or services utilize blogs to draw traffic to their site. Someone has to write those blogs. Business owners usually do not have the time to write the blogs themselves, so they turn to freelancers who do the writing for them.

Becoming Ad Worthy

When you become a very successful blogger with enough followers for search engines (e.g. Google, Bing, Firefox, etc.) to notice, you can allow them to put ads onto your site. If those ads start selling products or services from your blog site, you start making money. When you have something to say and a good way of saying it, it’s like building a better mousetrap.

Your  Own Brand

Maybe you have something to sell. Blogging can help you do it. You build a blog that has people returning again and again to see what you have to say and/or the clever way you say it. One of my favorite blogs is done by an artist who blogs in original pictures. Link your blog to your website where visitors can buy your products or services. It may not be easy to get started but it isn’t difficult, either.

Like everything else in life, it often depends on your own personal drive.
